
Alexandra Jackson
Mrs. Jackson is originally from the Houston area and grew up in Katy, TX. Coming from a very musical family, she started the violin at the young age of four with Mrs. Fishburn under the Suzuki method. Her parents, George and Sheri Engelmann, are both very well respected educators. Her father is an orchestra director, currently at Tallowood Baptist Church, and her mother teaches band at Spring Branch Middle School. She has studied violin with many teachers including Dr. Lisa Burrell and Phillip Lewis. Mrs. Jackson attended the University of North Texas in Denton, TX where she received her Bachelor's degree in Music Education with a concentration in violin. While at UNT, she taught in the UNT String Project all four years and was the lead teacher for the beginners her junior year. Before beginning her teaching career, Mrs. Jackson studied Suzuki training at the DFW WOW Institute with Judy Bossuat. Mrs. Jackson began teaching in public schools in 2012 at Willow Wood Junior High in Tomball ISD where she lead the orchestras there to UIL sweepstakes two years in a row. In 2014, Mrs. Jackson began teaching at Hildebrandt Intermediate and the orchestras have earned UIL sweepstakes; Runner-Up in class, Best in Class, and Best Overall ratings from the Ann Robert's Orchestra Festival. In 2017 the Hildebrandt Chamber Orchestra was invited to perform at the 2018 Music for All National Festival in Indianapolis. In 2018 Mrs. Jackson was chosen to open up the new school, Hofius Intermediate, and she is very excited to be creating new traditions alongside her students. In her spare time, Mrs. Jackson enjoys spending time with her husband Luke and daughter Ruth Anne and crafting in her craft room.
